Mr. French,
Yay.
On the Yakima R. in Ellensburg there is a wave
known as the "K Wave". It's best between 3400 to
4000 cfs. The link for the gauge is :

http://wa.water.usgs.gov/rt-cgi/gen_stn_pg?station=12484500&PRNT_UV=Y

It is in around June, but this year is anyone's
guess. It is drawn down starting late August to
early Sept and coincides w/ the release of the
Tieton
River the first 2 weeks of Sept. (to assure
constant water supply to irrigation system).

Directions: Take main exit for Ellensberg, head
north about 3/4 mile turning left at the Subway.
Follow this road about 3 miles under a bridge and
past a golf course on your right. Turn right into
the park after the golf course. Drive down this
road about 1/2 mile looking for a green swing
away
gate on your left, where you will see the wave on
river left. There's great eddy service and aside
from Russian thistle and Willow strainers, few
objective hazards.Parking is just
ahead on the left. It's worth the drive when
nothing else is in.
