RE: Potential Play Spot at Mirabeau Point is in!

Oh yes it is playable, but not for the faint of
heart! Potentially a rock slot to get stuck in
when mystery moving when it surges. Check what
causes this phenomenon at lower levels and you'll
see what I mean! Played there last big water year
a few years back and it is most intimidating to
say the least!
Lost gear is the least of your worries here!
BTW, it's "cuvette de toilette" for toilet bowl.
Bedeau translates to "verger"? Perhaps you were
thinking of "BIDET"? Which is defined as: "a low,
basin-shaped fixture, found esp. in France, used
for washing the genital and anal areas." That's
more like it!!!!!

>>I was recently told by a few members of the
Spokane Canoe and Kayak Club about a playspot
at
Mirabeau Point (near the Valley YMCA) a few weeks

ago. They call it the "Toilet Bowl" and after
visiting the hole last night while mtn. biking, I

found it to really be surging and vortexing.

The water builds up behind the rock point and
then surges at times creating a 3-foot tall water

pile on surfer's left below a granite outcrop.
There is a small wave on surfer's right.

If your bored of Dead Dog, want a dynamic,
ever-changing river formation and the chance to
try out your bombproof roll, you might try this
park and play spot. It might even be a good place

to lose some more equipment.

There is another small playspot 60-feet below
"The Toilet Bowl" on another outcrop. The SCKC
members called it the
"Bedeau." I think that is the right spelling in
French for toilet. Have fun boating!<<
